Uncoiler/Entry

Ensures coils are loaded properly to keep the slitter and/or CTL lines running efficiently and effectively to meet the company’s production goals.

Receive, verify and inspect material in preparation to load machine. Load machine and thread material through the leveler or cutter stand. Assists the operator in starting the machine. Observes flow of material to detect irregular slitting or leveling. Maintain a clean work environment by keeping work area free of trash and scrap. Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills:

• Basic reading and writing comprehension in English (to read work order instructions, safety, and policy manuals). Ability to read a tape measure and caliper.

• Basic computer skills.

• Proficient in basic math and problem-solving skills.

• Solid communication skills.

• Ability to follow and give instructions.

• Ability to thrive in a busy, fast-paced warehouse environment.

• Ability to work closely with others in a team environment

• Work authorization: United States (Required)

Experience & Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• 2 years steel industry experience

  Overhead crane and forklift experience a plus
